Tektra value for tech startups and scaleups, explained by CEO Tom De Bruyne

Tektra CEO & Co-founder Tom De Bruyne explains the value of Tektra for tech startups and scaleups.

I think we have an interesting offer or service for tech companies. On the one hand, tech startups or tech scaleups are faced with the development costs for product development. On the other hand, they are also faced with a runway or uncertainty regarding commercial results. The balance of the two actually means that it would be very nice if you could save on product development on the cost side or achieve more. It is precisely for this reason that we, at Tektra, actually have an interesting offer.

Tektra stands for Smart Access to IT Talent. In this case, the Smart aspect concerns international recruitment, in the wider world. We have developed all kinds of processes for this and we have the networks for this, etc. We know we are quite successful at that. What does that actually mean for a tech company?

You can activate the right people remotely, but very specifically. Remote remains remote, but it can also be interesting to bring those people to Belgium, so shifting from remote to on-site. That is something that Tekra can facilitate, from within Tektra. You can choose to take people directly onto the payroll locally, but, as Tektra, we can also facilitate letting those people start as contractors. And once they have proven themselves in your team, you can choose to hire those people yourself.

The advantage of this approach is, firstly, that it is highly cost-saving. This could really be more than 10% or 20%. This is actually about the total wage costs, employment costs. Secondly, it is also partly risk-managing. We are very flexible and you can easily decide as desired. You see how it goes. Is the person doing well, is the business going well? Should we adapt our pace? We can flexibly respond to your preferences. You can then say very dynamically: we speed up or we slow down. It is actually risk-mitigating for a tech company.

I have not spoken about our assessment procedure, about our continuous guidance, and our feedback, etc. I did not tell you all these things. If you want to know more about this and how the approach works, or you have a specific question, feel free to contact us.
